So I was on a walk and walking kind of on the grass when I almost stepped on a snake! I’m suprised it didn’t bite me (an act of God perhaps) but anyway the people whose yard I was passing at the time were on their pourch and they saw me fearfully and spasticly jump when I almost stepped on the snake but couldn’t see why so I told them about the snake to keep from looking like a psychotic idiot. One of the boys, they were teenagers but older than me maybe college students, jumped up to look for the snake I thought it was just boys being boys and figured they wouldn’t find the snake so I went along on my walk. On my way back I saw they had killed the snake and left it on the side of the road. This was a creature who had left me alone after I had almost stepped on it and they killed it for no reason! (serial killer checklist: torture and kill small animals - check!) So now I feel suuuuper guilty for telling them about the snake. This once living creature is now dead (too repetative?) all because I didn’t want to look stupid in front of people I don’t even know. :(
